This remains the showstopper VP role in NYC. Open for a long time, it finally got filled, but now is open again. I know multiple talented people who have been rejected in the process for this position, so I’m not sure where/what the challenges are, but as a fan of the brand and the product, I still like the gig a lot.

I’m such a huge Bitly admirer and was obsessed with this job (quietly, as I was happily employed) last time it was open. Their private equity transaction last year might give me some pause, but the job still looks legit.

This job has been open here and there for a while, but according to a recruiter I spoke with, was never actually filled. For the past few months, it was only open through staffing firms, but it has been posted publicly again now. This is a pure enterprise gig - White Ops is focused on security for big brands. If you like working with large customers (and likely the resulting travel), this could be a good fit.

I ran across this role just recently, and it intrigued me because it owns so many disciplines in CS - Support, Implementation, Account Management and Professional Services. Payfone raised its Series F early this year and was just named to the Deloitte Fast 500 for the second straight year.

I always like owning base account growth in CS, and that’s what this role is all about. The company, which focuses on Web video delivery, has also been around for more than 10 years, which is nice longevity. The Glassdoor review rating below 4.0 is worth asking the management team about, but with VP AM roles being rare, it seemed worth highlighting.

I like the mission of Catchafire (connecting professionals with non-profits for volunteer opportunities) and the role is a diverse mix of customer service, growth and partnership development. Like the opportunity above, the < 4.0 Glassdoor rating is something to look into with the management team if you apply.

The freelance talent space is huge, and will continue to expand. Also, the “curated talent” concept is supposed to be the future of online hiring and is something everyone (Indeed, Hired, Vettery, InterviewJet, etc.) is doing. I love the recruiting space, so this job was of interest to me. Of note, the “heads” of other departments (Sales, Operations) have VP titles.

I’ve been a huge fan of Foursquare forever, and even since they broke off Swarm as its own app. Foursquare seems to have successfully pivoted to an enterprise data offering versus just a consumer ad play (500+ employees, $200+ million in funding), and I like this opportunity a lot.

This role requires less experience, and is another opportunity in the security/fraud/digital identity space. Forter has been around since 2013 and has raised more than $100 million in funding (Series D).

Based in Hoboken, NJ, Flow is focused on international e-commerce via API-based tools. The company is still pretty small - less than 50 employees - and closed its Series A funding just last year.
